We're excited to announce the launch of our new Vegan Protein powder! Now containing 800g of powder, you can enjoy even more delicious protein shakes or foods.

Our old egg-based protein powder was all well and good but we've taken some big steps to improve the formula and give you more options to choose from. Now, our protein powder is derived from sprouted rice and green banana figs, plus we now offer both chocolate and vanilla flavours.

Our protein powder is now not only vegan but also gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, legume-free, grain-free, GMO-free, and free from artificial color, flavors, and preservatives—just about everyone can safely indulge!

It is now produced in a factory that's also free from gluten, nuts, eggs, soy, crustacean, and dairy, so even those with severe allergies have very little to worry about.

Unlike other popular vegetarian protein sources such as soy (derived from soybeans) and whey (derived from milk), rice protein is unlikely to trigger food sensitivities or contain any lingering carbohydrates.

Rice protein is also less likely to cause digestive problems since it tends to be processed by the body more easily and more readily than other proteins. This may be especially beneficial if you're an athlete looking for a quick way to replenish your protein stores.

In fact, it's a good choice all-around for an active dieter since research shows that rice protein is just as effective for muscle-building as animal protein. Besides the fact that it's more ethical, rice protein isn't just protein; it also contains a host of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants!

Rice protein has a subtle and relatively neutral taste, meaning it mixes well with the ingredients that give our new protein powder its flavor. We're really happy with this product's flavor profile and we're looking forward to hearing your input!

Unlike most protein powders on the market, 123 Diet Vegan Protein contains multi-fiber resistant starch, derived from green fig bananas! Plus, only healthy and live bananas are used to make our protein powder. Ilana put together a separate post to go into more detail on resistant starch if you're interested.

Incorporating this fiber-like nutrient into your diet can help regulate your digestion and improve your gut health by feeding the good bacteria that help keep your digestion running smoothly and your metabolism in balance. It can also help suppress your hunger and reduce your risk of obesity!

Our protein powder also contains inulin, a unique soluble fiber that compounds the benefits of resistant starch, and 5-Hydroxytryptophan, an amino acid that your body needs to synthesize serotonin—a neurotransmitter that can help boost your mood and reduce carbohydrate cravings.

Finally, depending on which flavor of protein powder you choose, you'll get to enjoy either cocoa or some vanilla bean powder. These addons are chock-full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants of their own!

While our protein powder is allowed during all three phases of the 123Diet, there's certainly no reason it shouldn't stay a part of your healthy lifestyle long-term!

Those on Phase 3 of the 123Diet may enjoy mixing their protein powder with fruit and ice for an early breakfast. Those on Phase 2 who want to mix up a delicious fruit-protein drink can enjoy an early lunch.

If you're feeling creative, you can try making the more complicated recipes like our Protein Pancakes below (okay for a phase 2 lunch or phase 3 breakfast)! Or, you can add some tasty ingredients like coffee or tea if you're craving a caffeine fix (as in frappe recipe below).
